The Cool Colonial - kitchen
Designed for a very young, vibrant family near Cleveland, this couple desired a combination of elegance, trendiness and "Wow" factor. What evolved was a beautiful, functional space full of eclectic style. Combining elements of traditional, modern and contemporary; I used a mix of light and moody neutrals to tie everything together and give this family a look that was uniquely their own. Contrasting rusticity and elegance, modern and traditional, old and new, it was fun and challenging, but, in the end, I think it turned out stunning! Judge for yourselves!
the cool colonial - bar & dining room
This family loves to host! They host all holiday gatherings for their extended families, as well as hosting friends for drinks or games. The dining room and bar were very important to the function of this home. For that reason, I decided, with the consent of the couple, to turn the oversized family room, which is connected to the kitchen, into the dining room to allow for a huge, oversized custom table, able to seat their large family over the holidays. To that we added fun, trendy chairs and a couple of small seating areas surrounding the table and bar, as well. The bar was redesigned to resemble a large curved black cabinet, with beautiful green zellige tiles visible through the glass doors. The leathered granite counter and brass faucet finish off this elegant design and make this bar one of my favorite things!
The Cool Colonial home -The banquette
Can I just say that banquettes are possibly one of my favorite things! This one is designed with built in storage, a custom high performance, leather seat cushion and high performance pillows, a concrete top table and cute cane back chairs, which allows this area to as functional as it is beautiful! Grab a cup of coffee and a good book and curl up, while you open one of the casement windows to allow summer breezes to blow through your hair... aaaaahhh, life is good!
Country charmer
This beautiful new home was already built and ready to be finished out when the home owner approached me. She was tired of decisions and just wanted everything to be styled out to bring this house up to it's greatest potential. So we took these spaces to the next level with beautiful accessories and attention to detail. We added custom drapes, bought outdoor furniture, artwork, even painted a door to improve a space. in the end, this space turned out so lovely! Continue through to see the before pictures. It's amazing the difference accessories can make!
country charmer - home office
For this office, we had a homeowner who loves to hunt. He is a businessman and writer, as well. He had quite a few trophy heads from hunting over the years and was hoping to incorporate them into his office. Some people would run from that, but I took it as a challenge. Adding a mural that looked like it was in the mountains added to the rugged feel to make the deer heads make sense, but keeping the color scheme light and bright kept the space from feeling too crowded and also gave it a bit more of a modern edge. In the end, I loved how the space came together. It's a pretty cool twist on masculine if I do say so myself. Scroll to the end to see a before picture.
staged to sell
When you are ready to sell and need to pair back to show off all the space you have, as well as, advertise with beautiful pictures, give me a call. I can help you stage your home beautifully and introduce you to a very talented realty photographer, as well. Sometimes you just need a little help to get that top dollar.
sweet comfort
While I mostly work on existing homes, I love the challenge of doing a commercial job from time to time. One job that truly stands out is a counseling office addition that I worked on during the pandemic.
What makes people the most comfortable when they are coming into this place that may feel overwhelming; how can I make them comforted and soothed with the colors I choose, the fabrics they can touch and the layout that provides them with the feeling of being secure and safe? Add to that the idea that the counselors themselves should be cared for by the things that surround them; the things they find beautiful and comforting, as well as layouts that look out for their safety, as well, and you can see the many special considerations that were in this job. It was truly an honor to complete this project and work with these wonderful folks.
the atmosphere office
Tucked in the corner of a larger wood flooring business, is the space that I call my own, the Atmosphere office. Surrounded by the shelves and displays of an industrial, commercial business, my corner blends seamlessly while exuding coziness and style. It's truly unique, and a space I love to work in.
showroom with style
When the business, where my office is located, moved into an old grocery store from the 70's, the building was in need of a lot of repair. We painted out the trim on the outside, polished the old existing concrete floors inside, painted the interior a neutral white, trimmed the doors and windows out in Wormy Chestnut, added a comfy seating area, inserted visually attractive shelving and last, but certainly not least, added a custom made rustic Wormy Chestnut, metal topped, counter. It is a one of a kind piece that is a gorgeous focal point in this very functional space. The showroom, adjoined to a large warehouse, is a nice surprise for those who enter. The nicest surprise of all though is all the drinks and snacks waiting for those who enter, including a large vintage popcorn machine that adds a wonderful smell to the atmosphere.
If you're in the area, stop in; we'd love to see you!
