Design Philosophy
There are two different types of designers. There are the ones that have a definitive style. When you see it, you know who the designer is (think Joanna Gaines). The other type of interior designer intentionally designs around who the client is – and then puts their spin into it.
That’s who I am. Because your project is uniquely different from any other, I make every design decision based on who you are, your lifestyle, your functional needs, and your likes and dislikes. I know that a project is successful when I hear a client’s family or friends say, “This feels just like you!”
That said, my favorite style is transitional, which is perfectly suited to:
Updating traditional styles
Adding warmth to modern styles
Combining different styles
Using a mostly neutral palette
Incorporating an accent color and using it consistently throughout the house
Mixing traditional, contemporary and modern pieces
My favorite? I absolutely love blending modern art with traditional furniture or taking modern furniture and using vintage art pieces alongside them.
